If you are receiving this letter you are seeking more information on Hawaiian Lomi Lomi Training Retreats or have at one point contacted me about retreats.
The purpose of this letter is to inform and update those who have expressed an interest in learning Hawaiian Lomi Lomi in Training Retreats. There is a lot of new information so read it carefully.
About The Teacher Let me introduce myself. Aloha, I am Marguerite. I have been practicing massage for over 30 plus years and studied under Auntie Margaret Machado over 28 years ago. Funny, I do not feel that old! Over the years I have learned many modalities, but I am focused on Lomi and Structural Integration. I believe strongly in the healing power of prayer and consider it a privilege to be used for the healing and blessing of those that come to me for therapy. I am also devoted to sharing the knowledge I have received over the years with my students, so they can be real blessings in their communities. A Few Quotes from Students Q: "What did you like best about it?" Q: "Comment on the instructor", We are happy to announce a New Training Retreat in addition to the three we currently offer. An example is the green sand, created by the waves crushing the semi-precious stone Olivine, and turning it into the powdery sparkling green sand found on a remote beach on Format for the Retreat The Retreat will last for 7 days; with 5 days for training and 2 days for field trips to explore the island while gathering course materials. We will gather the ingredients for our therapy from the aina (earth). Stones and sands will be applied to the body in various ways to create an exceptional experience. The elements of sand, stones, water, fire, earth, and ice will be used to create an out of this world experience that is the cutting edge of Spa Treatments today. Level 2 Retreat Dates January 15-21, 2008 March 12-18, 2008 April 21-27, 2008 May 11-17, 2008 Sept. 1-7, 2008 All these courses follow immediately after the level one Hawaiian Lomi Lomi courses that are scheduled. Level 3 Ho'oponopono, Structural Integration Shoulder Therapy, and Hawaiian Implements This course will provide an arena to purify oneself Spiritually and Emotionally for those called to be a clear channel of God's healing. We can be used only to the degree that we are free from encumbrances and burdens of the soul. This course seeks to help each participant to get in touch with the things hidden in their hearts and release them once and for all. Auntie Margaret taught that the same principles regarding forgiveness that govern the spirituality of mankind everywhere were understood by the Hawaiian people. Jesus said ''For if you forgive men their transgressions, your Heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men, your Father will not forgive your transgressions." The scriptures speak of bitterness as being defiling to the one who is bitter, and poisonous to all the people around them. We will practice the Hawaiian wisdom in healing the heart through Ho'oponopono, an in depth releasing of all unforgiveness and bitterness. One broad definition of Hooponopono is to solve problems. The process is very uplifting and an amazing relief for burdens of the soul. I spent many years devoted solely to spiritual counseling. I ministered to all kinds of people in all kinds of situations. Couples in marriage crisis and all other situations of life and the most frequent comment that was spoken after I had guided the person in the area of forgiveness is " I had no idea what a huge weight I was caring all these years". Massage wise, we will explore the great tools of Structural Integration for releasing the shoulder, arm, and neck. This work is very much needed and has been a great benefit to those who have learned it and received the work. In addition, we will explore the use of Lomi Sticks and other implements used in traditional Hawaiian massage. Lomi sticks will be gathered and made by the students, and are used in self massage. Format for the retreat The training will take 7days. The retreat will be focused on healing the soul of the therapist. Much time will be spent in reflection and in group working with Ho'oponopono. We will also do a field trip to gather implement materials. The body work part of the training will be done as in the other retreats, through demonstration and hands on experience. Signature______________________________ There are several styles of Lomi and different spiritual beliefs behind them. I am a Christian and my teacher Auntie Margaret is a Christian. The emphasis in my retreats is hands on massage not Hawaiiana, legends, or esoteric practices. Some discussion of these may occur, but practical massage is the heart of the retreat. I encourage prayer for your clients, but each individual decides how they will pray. It is not up to me or any one to tell you what to believe or how to pray. I respect all people's beliefs, but hold to my own strongly. As long as it is clear to all that the massage is the center of the learning experience, all will be well.
